Luxury Micro Wedding | Vegan Celebration at Hempsall Farm, Cambridge
June 10, 2026
Oh man this was a good one, and it showed me that my website is helping the best clients find me! There are weddings where decisions are convenient, and then there are weddings like Anand and Cristiana’s, where every detail reflects a deeper set of values. Their luxury vegan micro wedding at Hempsall Farm in Cambridge was a celebration of everything they care about, from animals to family from far and wide.
With around 20 guests travelling from across the world, analogue film photography, a week-long glamping experience, and a setting surrounded by rescued animals, this was a luxury micro wedding I’ve been dying to share with you.

A Luxury Micro Wedding with Meaning
When Anand and Cristiana first got in touch, they explained that they had specifically searched for “vegan wedding photographer” and “UK wedding photographer” on Google. They had discovered a vegan wedding I photographed at South Farm alongside a luxury stately home vegan wedding in Cambridge and immediately felt connected to the way I approach weddings.
As a vegan myself since 2019 and a recommended supplier with The Natural Wedding Company, I understood exactly what they were looking for. They wanted suppliers who shared their values and genuinely understood why celebrating animals was such an important part of their wedding day.
Their choice of venue reflected this perfectly. Hempsall Farm is not only a beautiful glamping venue in the Cambridgeshire countryside, but also an animal sanctuary providing a home for sheep, pigs, turkeys and many other rescued animals. It definitely wasn’t your typical wedding venue, but they didn’t mind that at all.
Rather than planning a large traditional wedding, Anand and Cristiana created a luxury micro wedding centred around their vegan values & closest family and friends. Guests travelled from the USA, Australia, Italy and France, turning the celebration into a week-long holiday where everyone could stay together on site and enjoy the surroundings. This totally could have been a multi-day wedding if they wanted it to be!
By the end of the wedding, I genuinely felt like part of the family.

Finding a Vegan Wedding Photographer
One thing that stood out throughout the planning process was how carefully Anand and Cristiana chose every supplier involved in their wedding. For many couples, booking a photographer is about finding somebody whose work they like, which is totally normal. For Anand and Cristiana, it was also about hiring a vegan wedding photographer who understood the values behind the day itself.
That shared understanding allowed us to focus on what mattered most. Rather than creating a long list of staged photographs, we concentrated on capturing authentic moments, meaningful interactions and the atmosphere of the day while still creating stylish imagery that felt elevated and timeless. Plus the animals, which they loved, featured a lot!
This balance is something I have always worked hard to achieve. My background in fashion and editorial photography taught me how to create beautiful imagery in any situation, but weddings have always been about people (and animals!) first. The photographs that become family heirlooms are rarely the most complicated ones. They’re the moments for a luxury micro wedding that genuinely mean something.

Starting the Day with the Animals
One of my favourite parts of the entire luxury micro wedding happened before the ceremony had even begun. Anand and Cristiana wanted photographs with the animals who call Hempsall Farm home, so we spent part of the morning wandering around the sanctuary together. They fed sheep, stroked pigs and spent time connecting with the animals that had inspired so many of the decisions surrounding their wedding.
As someone who loves animals myself, & used to be a Cambridge wedding photographer, this hardly felt like work in my old county. Usually I’m getting scene setting photos, bridal preparation photos and thinking logistics with the planner. The relaxed pace created some wonderfully natural photographs. Nothing felt rushed or forced. It was simply two people spending time together with the animals that they love.

A Ceremony Surrounded by Nature
While we explored the sanctuary, the team at Hempsall Farm transformed one of the barns into the ceremony space during a very windy yet sunny day.
The setting was beautifully simple. Large openings looked out across the surrounding fields, allowing the countryside to become part of the backdrop itself. Red draping and rugs on hay bales was simple yet effective.
Anand and Cristiana got ready in their glamping tent before making their way to the ceremony wearing traditional Indian clothing. Against the rustic surroundings of the farm, the colours and textures looked incredible.
With just a small group of guests present, the ceremony felt intimate and personal. Every smile, every laugh and every emotional moment was shared by people who genuinely knew and loved them. That’s often what makes a luxury micro wedding feel so special. The guest count may be smaller, but the emotional connection can feel even stronger.

Why Film Photography Was the Perfect Choice
One of the things Anand and Cristiana were most excited about was incorporating analogue film photography into their wedding coverage. They invested in multiple rolls of film alongside their digital photography because they loved the timeless quality and character that film creates.
The soft colours of the countryside, the textures of the glamping site, the traditional clothing, the animals and the emotional family moments all translated beautifully onto film. Combined with modern digital photography, it created a collection of images that felt both timeless and contemporary.
It’s one of the reasons more couples are investing thousands into wedding photography today. They’re not simply buying photographs. They’re preserving memories in a way that will still feel meaningful decades from now even as their family grows.

Family, Food and Celebration
Following the ceremony of this luxury micro wedding, the focus shifted towards spending time with family and friends.
Children explored the play areas around the farm while guests enjoyed gorgeous vegan food from Mumtas, Anand and Cristiana’s favourite food van. The atmosphere felt more like a family gathering than a traditional wedding reception, which suited the day perfectly.
Later, everyone climbed aboard the static double decker bus where speeches and cake cutting took place.
Even Rani, the couple’s beloved dog, joined the celebrations. It was a tight squeeze!
Throughout the day, it was clear how much effort had gone into creating an experience rather than simply hosting an event. Every guest had travelled a considerable distance, and every moment felt designed to bring people together.

Sunflowers, Dragonflies and Sunset Portraits
As the evening approached, we headed out into the surrounding fields for portraits. The sunflower fields provided a beautiful backdrop, but the real surprise came when thousands of dragonflies suddenly appeared across the sky as we finished.
It was one of those unexpected moments that no amount of planning could create.
As the sun disappeared below the horizon, guests gathered back at the glamping tent for games and conversation. It was the perfect ending to a wedding that never tried to be anything other than itself.

My Approach to Luxury Wedding Photography
Luxury wedding photography isn’t about creating photographs that look expensive. For me, it’s about creating photographs that feel valuable to the client.
It’s the combination of authentic storytelling, technical expertise, fashionable cropping and the ability to anticipate moments. It’s also about celebrating with the couple in a way they forget you have a camera with you.
Having photographed weddings for well over a decade, with work featured internationally and a background in fashion and editorial photography, I bring both technical experience and creative vision to every luxury vegan micro wedding I photograph.
Whether I’m shooting digitally or loading another roll of 35mm film into one of my cameras, my goal remains the same. To create stylish, original photographs that preserve the people, emotions and memories that matter most.

Planning a Luxury Micro Wedding
Anand and Cristiana’s wedding is proof that luxury isn’t defined by guest numbers.
A wedding with 20 guests can feel every bit as meaningful, beautiful and memorable as one with 200.
By choosing suppliers who shared their values, celebrating at an animal sanctuary, incorporating analogue film photography and focusing on experiences rather than expectations, they created a wedding that felt completely true to them.
And that’s often where the most memorable weddings begin.
