Helpful Tips

Having lived in Cambridge for four years, I had the chance to work alongside some incredibly talented wedding suppliers. Now I’m back home in Ramsgate, I’ve continued building relationships with some brilliant creatives across Kent too. One thing I’ve realised after photographing weddings for well over a decade is this: luxury wedding florists genuinely shape the feeling of a wedding day more than almost any other supplier.

With high-end weddings, flowers are never just flowers.

They influence atmosphere, colour palettes, movement, texture, even the way photographs feel emotionally. The right floral design can make a ceremony space feel intimate, a marquee feel editorial, or a stately home wedding feel soft and romantic rather than imposing.

Every wedding I photograph includes flowers in some form. Sometimes it’s understated elegance with delicate bouquets and bud vases. Other times it’s full floral installations hanging from ceilings or framing an outdoor ceremony. I even photographed one wedding where the couple created giant paper floral backdrops by hand. It sounds unusual, but honestly, it looked incredible and photographed beautifully.

At weddings where couples want that elevated, luxurious feel without everything becoming overly formal or stiff, flowers often become the glue that ties the whole visual experience together. A great florist understands that balance. They know how to create impact without overwhelming the wedding itself.

If you’re currently searching for luxury wedding florists in Kent or Cambridge, here are a few people whose work I’ve personally seen up close on real wedding days and would happily recommend.

Kent Based Luxury Wedding Florists

Here’s a little shortlist of the best florists for high-end weddings in the South East.

Bride holding red bouquets with her bridesmaids at Winters Barns

Flower Art by Michele

One thing I really appreciate about Michele’s work is her consistency. Her floral styling leans slightly more traditional, but in a refined and elegant way that suits luxury weddings beautifully.

One wedding that always sticks in my mind was at Winters Barns, where the bouquets perfectly complemented the bridesmaids’ dresses. That sounds simple, but matching tones and textures naturally without things feeling forced is actually much harder than people realise.

A lot of couples underestimate how much expertise goes into floral colour palettes. Certain shades photograph very differently in natural light, church interiors, or candlelit receptions. Experienced luxury wedding florists understand that instinctively.

Michele’s flowers always feel polished, elegant, and thoughtfully designed for the environment they’re sitting in, which is exactly what you want from wedding floristry at a high level.

Lucy Wildbloom

I photographed a wedding with Lucy’s flowers in the middle of December, and honestly, I still don’t know how she managed to make everything feel so vibrant considering it was practically snowing outside.

That’s often the difference with experienced luxury wedding florists. They know how to work with seasonality rather than against it. Winter weddings can sometimes feel sparse if florals aren’t carefully considered, but Lucy created bouquets that brought warmth and softness into the entire day.

The flowers looked incredible in photographs, but beyond that, Lucy is also just genuinely lovely to work with. We often end up chatting on Instagram, and those relationships matter more than couples might realise. When suppliers communicate well and care about the day itself, weddings run smoother.

As a photographer, I always notice when florists are calm, collaborative, and invested in the bigger picture rather than simply dropping flowers off and disappearing.

Ultramarine Flowers

It’s always reassuring when you repeatedly see the same suppliers recommended by respected venues, and both Ultramarine Flowers and myself are included on Turner Contemporary’s recommended supplier list.

That alone says a lot.

Luxury wedding venues tend to work with suppliers who are reliable under pressure, consistent in quality, and capable of delivering work that aligns with a premium experience.

Floristry at that level is about more than bouquets. It’s about understanding scale, architecture, colour harmony, and guest experience. Flowers need to feel intentional within the space, whether that’s a contemporary gallery wedding or a countryside barn venue.

Cambridge Based Wedding Florists

Wild Stems

Wild Stems create some of the most unique wedding floristry I’ve photographed in Cambridge.

At Janki and Andy’s wedding, they designed vibrant traditional garlands and ceremony structures that completely transformed the space. What I loved most was how versatile everything was. The floral installations could later be moved into the reception area, which is such a smart approach for couples wanting maximum impact from their investment.

Luxury weddings are increasingly focusing on intentional design rather than excess for the sake of it, and Wild Stems really understand that balance.

Their work feels bespoke in the truest sense of the word. Nothing looks copied from Pinterest. Everything feels personal to the couple and thoughtfully connected to the celebration itself.

Clare Kenward Flowers

Clare’s work has a softness and elegance that photographs beautifully.

One wedding I photographed featured subtle neutral tones with enough contrast and texture to still feel visually interesting. That balance can be surprisingly difficult to achieve. Some floral palettes disappear visually, while others dominate too much.

These flowers enhanced the bride rather than distracting from her, and I think that’s often where experienced luxury wedding florists separate themselves from the crowd. They understand proportion, styling, and restraint.

Not every luxury wedding needs giant installations and dramatic colour. Sometimes sophistication comes from simplicity done exceptionally well.

Manor Florist

I’ve worked alongside Manor Florist at several weddings around Cambridge, including church ceremonies where flowers played a huge role in softening traditional spaces.

Church weddings especially benefit from thoughtful floristry because many churches are visually large or architecturally imposing. Flowers help create intimacy within those spaces.

At one wedding near Holy Trinity Church, the bouquet design added this beautiful romantic softness that worked perfectly against the grandeur of the surroundings.

That contrast photographs incredibly well.

The Cambridge Florist (Alice)

Alice and I worked together on Holly and Dom’s luxury wedding at Gonville and Caius College, and her work was stunning throughout the day.

What stood out most was how personal the experience felt.

I often bump into the head florist at Burwash Manor, and she still remembers Sophie’s bouquet and the vision behind her wedding day. That level of investment means a lot because weddings are deeply personal events. Couples want suppliers who genuinely care.

The best luxury wedding florists don’t just create arrangements. They help shape memories.

Lastly, if you’re still looking for a photographer who values natural storytelling, emotional honesty, and elegant imagery that works beautifully alongside thoughtful floral styling, I’d love to hear more about your plans.
