It’s pretty rare that I meet anybody in Cambridge that knows anything about my home town of Deal. I was surprised that the groom Sam used to live down the road in neighbouring village Sandwich. We hit it off straight from enquiry for this modern wedding at Manor Barn, Cambridge.
Engagement Photographer Cambridge
I feel like I have wanted this wedding to come around for a long time. Amy & Sam got in touch with me very soon after they got engaged, two years before the wedding. I even suggested them some wedding venues to look at and I was over the moon when they chose Manor Barn.
Wedding Transportation
I have never travelled to a wedding venue by bus, but on this occasion it was with the bride and her bridal party: it was so fun!
Bridal Preparation
Amy got ready at her home in Cambridge which was minimalist and beautiful. I usually recommend to either get married on site at the ceremony venue or an air bnb. However, Amy had comfort on her mind and had an eye for aesthetics. Her house was awesome!
Modern Wedding Ceremony
Family from all over the UK and even USA & Australia met us on arrival and Sam & Amy became husband and wife before the rain. Thankfully the rain left as quick as it came and everybody celebrated under the sun with cocktails.
Authentic Couple Portraits
We had a few different places to explore for couple time so Amy & Sam were able to treasure time just the two of them. My style for wedding couple portraits is less about intricate posing and more about guiding couples. I give a little bit of guidance where necessary, but it’s mostly having the newlyweds enjoy their time together as I take photographs. We explore the wedding venue and have fun! The thing I love about Manor Barn in Cambridge is that there are loads of exciting places to look around and get cool, editorial portraits.
Speeches
After the speeches and food, the party kicked off well into the evening. I felt like part of the family by the time I left.
The Party
I love a party, and the dark dance floor really encouraged everybody to get dancing. Make note of that!
