Anna & Sam's iconic Kings College Wedding in Cambridge

witness the stunning architecture of King’s College at Anna & Sam’s unforgettable wedding celebration in the heart of Cambridge.

A Classic Celebration at University Arms Hotel & Kings College Cambridge

As one of the most prestigious colleges in Cambridge, Kings College is a special venue to host a wedding—you’ll find a stunning chapel, gothic interiors and an impressive 200-year-old horse chestnut tree, which created a beautiful setting for Anna & Sam's wedding photographs. For the choice of bridal preparation or reception, the University Arms Hotel offers a sophisticated ambiance with views over the town centre and the lovely Parker’s Piece park. Together, these venues provided a perfect blend of history and class.

History & Unique Features of University Arms Hotel & Kings College

If you’re looking for a luxury hotel in the heart of Cambridge, the University Arms Hotel is an excellent choice. It features private balconies, convenient underground parking, and the delightful Parkers Tavern for gourmet dining—everything you need for a comfortable stay. On the other hand, King’s College, with its origins dating back to the 15th century, adds a sense of history and prestige to your celebration. It’s remarkable to think that Nobel Prize winners once walked its halls! The college’s stunning gardens and picturesque bridge create a beautiful setting, and since visitors pay for entry, you can relax knowing your celebration will be private and away from the crowds, with attentive staff ensuring everything runs smoothly.

What can I say about Tom? The most TALENTED photographer and an even more fantastic person. We knew we wanted Tom the moment we saw his portfolio, his pictures were absolutely stunning, and his eye is just fantastic. He manages to capture such precious moments and the quality of the images was absolutely incredible. Unfortunately at the time our budget wouldn't allow, so we walked away (briefly) before realising that we wanted Tom so much we'd make sure we could afford it by making cuts elsewhere, and WOW are we glad we made that decision!

(continued)

From start to finish, Tom has been extraordinary to work with. Such a kind and easy way about him, he gave us so much helpful advice and amazing ideas in our initial zoom call. Everything from group photos, to scheduling, to putting our minds at rest about being the centre of attention all day! He found out about us as a couple, and made sure he knew what was important to us personally so he could emphasise that in his shots. For us we wanted to capture the warmth of the day, the moments we might miss and the fun and vibrancy of the day and Tom and Kendelle did EXACTLY that. (Just as a side note - I'd definitely recommend investing in an associate photographer).

The photos he captured are absolutely perfect, I shed a tear going through the album because he caught the whole day so perfectly! It was like reliving our favourite day all over again! We're really struggling to choose which to get printed because they're honestly just all so fantastic! He even caught moments between Matt (my husband) and I that I don't even remember happening, but were just so wonderful to see. So many of our guests have commented how lovely Tom was throughout the day, really putting them at ease and he really felt like he was part of the day and fit right into my friends and family, which was exactly what we wanted (while also being really subtle and taking so many sneaky shots I don't remember seeing him taking!!)

We really connected with Tom on so many levels, but we genuinely feel like we've made a friend. It's really important when you're planning a wedding (in my opinion) that you really trust the people you're working with, and we can honestly say from the bottom of our hearts that we trusted Tom implicitly and weren't disappointed at all!

If you're looking for a wedding photographer, please don't look any further! Tom is your man. Not only will you receive the BEST images of your wedding day, but you might just make a new pal at the same time!

Kind Words

Why Kings College is a Great Wedding Venue

King’s College is a wonderful choice for weddings, especially when you're planning to invite a large number of guests. The cozy dark wood interior creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, particularly when lit by candlelight—it’s truly magical during the colder months. With ample space to accommodate your loved ones, you can celebrate in comfort and style. It is worth noting that although the food is incredible, you will need to specify in advance about dietary requirements for guests and where you would like your wedding suppliers to be during the wedding.

Luxury Wedding Photographer

If you’re thinking about using University Arms Hotel and King’s College for your wedding, I suggest a couple of great combinations: start your day by getting ready at the University Arms, then hold the entire wedding celebration at King’s College. Alternatively, you could have a beautiful ceremony in the chapel at King’s and follow it with a stylish reception at the hotel. Both options offer a perfect blend of elegance and charm! I highly recommend enlisting the help of a wedding stylist to guide your decor choices for the celebration as both venues can be quite expansive.
